Mississippi

Yalobusha Bound, is a second edition book expanded to approximately three times the family information as the first edition.  The compiler has devoted almost forty years of research to this task, following many of the old migration routes into Texas and Arkansas in an effect to find descendants.  The book has an unusual format, it uses as its foundation the 1850 census of Yalobusha County, Mississippi, and includes a wealth of notes that identify approximately three- fourths of the individuals listed in that census, taking many of the families back to their immigrant ancestors, and tracing their descendants, when known, down to the turn of the 20th century.

This book represents a history of the South more than it does that of a single county.  The origins of the pioneer settlers of Yalobusha County have been thoroughly traced back into the older states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland, as well as other places of origin as far flung as New England and old New Orleans.

Did your ancestors leave their footprints in St Louis?  This guide is the definitive resource for St. Louis research, providing information about local repositories, available records, and numerous websites.

- When did your family arrive in St. Louis?
