Membership

Benefits of membership include a subscription to theQuarterly newsletter mailed to members in May, August, November, and February.  Monthly meetings, presentations, classes and workshops aid the researcher in his/her hunt for elusive ancestors.  There is an active computer users group and several subgroups who specialize in various genealogy software programs, all eager to aid members in using the computer in their research.

The Society offers opportunity to associate with and learn from other genealogy researchers with perhaps more experience and with similar surname and geographic interests.

In addition, the Society purchases, to the extent possible, books and reference materials for the Special Collections Library, and subsidizes in the amount of $2.95 per roll the purchase of microfilm by Society members for donation to the Library.  Each year the Society awards a monetary prize to a member who has purchased microfilms for the Library.

Membership dues are $15.00 per year for individuals, or $20.00 per year for couples (husband and wife, same address).  The membership year is from January 1st to December 31st, but dues may be prorated quarterly for new members joining during the membership year.  Joan Marie Brown is the new Membership Chair.  Contact her to request the exact amount if desiring prorated dues.  You can e- mail her or consult your membership directory for her telephone number.

Please print, complete, and return the Membership Application with your check to: The Albuquerque Genealogical Society, Att: Treasurer, PO Box 25512, Albuquerque, NM 87125-0512, or join us in person at the next Society meeting.  If you join by mail and want your Membership Card mailed to you, include a SASE.
